Fuad Husein, Managing Partner
Fuad Husein trained as an accountant with KPMG receiving a CMA designation before leaving to establish his own turn around management company in 1995. In 2000, he graduating with an MBA from the Telfer School of Management and received his certification as a project manager a few years later. Presently he is the Managing Partner of GDI Canada Inc. a consulting firm with a combined partner expertise in various industries but specializing in Mobile Banking services.
Mr. Husein has conducted research in the technological aspects of electronic commerce and in 2002 co-published a paper on mobile commerce. Mr. Husein is presently involved in the distribution of electronic wallet services and direct deposit payroll systems which use prepaid cards to replace traditional cheque services. He has targeted Central and South America as regions of potential growth, recently launching prepaid VISA card services and direct remittance deposit services in Jamaica.
Past experience includes turnaround management, investment and ownership in companies involved in food production, automotive manufacturing (tier 1 and 2), and education, government and in the private equity financial services sector. As part of his overseas business development experience, Mr. Husein successfully launched significant product offerings in Italy for IS2 Research, a Canadian Company involved in the manufacture of scintillation mammography equipment. In Mexico and The US, he spearheaded expansion for Valeo Automotive Manufacturing, ultimately acquiring and privatizing Ultraform Manufacturing as a leveraged buyout from its Valeo parent in 2005.
